The Black Diamond is the boldest and most exclusive line in the Diamond Crown portfolio, developed through a three-year collaboration between the Newman and Fuente families and produced in small batches at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. The Emerald is the toro vitola of the three-size lineup and is widely considered the sweet spot of the line. It features an eight-year aged, double-fermented Connecticut Havana Seed Sun Grown wrapper over Dominican binder and filler grown exclusively for this blend at Chateau de la Fuente, tobaccos that do not appear in any other cigar in the world. That extended aging and double fermentation is what separates this from a standard maduro experience.

The smoke opens with mocha, cinnamon spice, and earth, with chocolate and coffee emerging as the dominant flavors through the first third alongside red pepper on the retrohale. Cedar and wood build through the second half as the maduro sweetness weaves in and out, with espresso richness deepening toward the finish and semi-sweet chocolate returning on the final draws for a smooth, elegant close. Rated 94 points, the Black Diamond Emerald is medium to full in body and one of the most nuanced dark cigars produced by the Fuente factory.
