Newman's 115th anniversary and the 135th birthday of founder Julius Caeser Newman, this cigar carries a deliberate misspelling of Caesar, the same one made at immigration when Julius Newman arrived from Hungary and chose his middle name. Handmade at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic, the Julius Caeser features an Ecuadorian Havana Seed wrapper over Central American binder and filler tobaccos, packed into a Colorado-red tinted, slightly toothy wrapper that immediately signals quality before you even light up.

The first third opens with honey sweetness, chocolate, coffee, cream, and a touch of citrus that transitions into red and white pepper notes through the second third, with almonds, coffee, and a lingering caramel sweetness building steadily toward the final third. The burn and draw are consistently excellent, making this a cigar you can settle into without babysitting, and the finish leaves a long, satisfying impression of almond, espresso, and earthy spice.
