Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust 10th Jubilee
Description
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust 10th Jubilee Corona Gorda
To mark ten years of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, Steve Saka reached for a wrapper leaf his company had never used in a national release: Ecuadorian Sumatra. Rolled at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A., the same factory behind Mi Querida, this dark and velvety leaf sits atop a Mexican binder and four distinct Nicaraguan long-fillers from Condega, Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe. Saka chose the corona gorda format specifically because he felt this particular blend of tobaccos, none of which he'd worked with before, needed exactly this size to truly sing.
The result lands just north of medium-bodied, unfolding in waves of baking spice, molasses, leather, cedar, and soft pepper, with floral notes and a background sweetness reminiscent of ripe fruit and cocoa. It's a refined, complex smoke that stays smooth from light to nub, understated in presentation but not in craftsmanship, a fitting tribute to a decade of Dunbarton's boundary-pushing work.
