GL Pease Quiet Nights Pipe Tobacco

Quiet Nights belongs to G.L. Pease’s Old London Series, a line inspired by the tobacco shops and gaslit streets of Victorian London. Greg Pease, one of the most respected blenders in American pipe tobacco, combines ripe red Virginias, fine Orientals, smoky Cyprus Latakia, and a pinch of Acadian Perique. The tobaccos are pressed into cakes, left to mature, and then sliced into broken flakes, which gives the components time to marry before the tin is ever opened.

The result is a full-flavoured English blend at a medium strength. The red Virginias provide a sweet base, the Latakia adds a campfire smokiness, the Orientals bring a soft spice, and the Perique adds a little dark fruit and pepper on the finish. There’s no topping, just well-aged leaf. Rub out the flakes for an easy pack, or fold and stuff them for a slow, cool burn. Light a bowl at the end of the day and let it take its time.
