H Upmann Connoisseur No. 1
Description
H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 | Cuban Cigar | Hermosos No. 4 | 5x48
The H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 is one of the more quietly revered cigars in the entire Habanos portfolio, a Hermosos No. 4 measuring 5 inches by a 48 ring gauge, filled entirely with premium long filler tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba and finished with a traditional triple cap. Originally introduced before 1960 and sold without a band until 2005, this is a cigar blended for the aficionado who appreciates restraint and complexity over brute strength, handmade at the H. Upmann factory in Havana and carrying all the heritage that name implies.
The Connoisseur No. 1 opens with a beautifully fresh burst of cedar, shortbread, and cream before the profile begins to develop into warm coffee, toasted almonds, and light honey sweetness through the middle. Richer notes of baking spice, vanilla, and light pepper weave through the second third, with the cigar closing on a smooth, lingering finish of warm spice, earth, and delicate nuttiness that rewards patience from start to finish. Light to medium in body and immensely elegant, it is ideal with a morning coffee or a quiet afternoon session and runs just over an hour.
