José L. Piedra is a distinguished Habano, known for its blend made entirely from filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios region. It is also crafted using the *Totalmente a Mano, Tripa Corta* technique, meaning "handmade with short filler." 

The Piedra family emigrated from Asturias, Spain, to Cuba in the 1880s, settling near Santa Clara in the Remedios region. This area, where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century, became the place where the family began their cigar-making journey.
