Montecristo Linea 1935 Maltes
Description
Montecristo Línea 1935 Maltés | Cuban Cigar | 6x53
Introduced at the XIX Festival del Habano in 2017, the Línea 1935 is the most powerful regular production line Montecristo has ever released, blended exclusively with tobacco from the prestigious Pinar del Río region to commemorate the brand's founding year. The Maltés, named after Edmond Dantès' alias in the Alexandre Dumas novel that inspired the brand, measures 6 inches by a 53 ring gauge and arrives with a gorgeous honey-brown oily wrapper, a distinctive double band at the foot, and impeccable long-filler handmade construction that produces thick, creamy smoke from the very first draw.
The opening draws deliver fresh earthiness, leather, and roasted coffee before the profile transitions into a beautifully balanced Montecristo character of woody cedar, peanuts, and black pepper, with subtle caramel sweetness on the retrohale through the middle third. By the final third the pepper and earthiness intensify, with exceptional notes of cardamom and black tea emerging late in a way rarely experienced in any cigar. Medium to full in strength with a finish that lingers long after the nub, the Maltés has excellent aging potential and only gets better with time in the humidor.
