Oscar Valladares 10 Year Anniversary Toro

Oscar Valladares started his company in Danlí, Honduras in 2012, and he marked its first ten years with the most ambitious cigar he had made. The 10th Anniversary uses two wrappers. A dark Mexican San Andrés Maduro covers most of the cigar, and a band of Honduran candela leaf finishes the foot. Under the wrappers sit a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan long filler, aged for at least five years. Because the aging takes so long, the cigar is released in small, limited batches each year.

The Toro shows off the blend’s progression best. It opens on bright, grassy notes through the candela, then moves into the maduro, where leather, cocoa, cinnamon, and warm spice take over. The 6 x 52 format gives each stage time to develop and keeps the burn cool and even. With its bold “10” band and two-tone wrapper, it looks like a celebration before you even light it, which makes it a natural choice for a birthday, a promotion, or any milestone of your own.
