Oscar Valladares Island Jim #2 Corojo Torpedo

The Island Jim No. 2 is a collaboration between Oscar Valladares and Pittsburgh retailer Jim Robinson, handmade at Oscar's factory in Danlí, Honduras. Built to look like a No. 2 pencil, the cigar features an uncapped torpedo head and a shaggy open foot, with a reddish Nicaraguan Jalapa Corojo wrapper over a Honduran binder and filler. 

From the first draw you get sweet spice and rich chocolate, with notes of leather, nuts, and cream rounding out a medium-bodied profile that keeps evolving through to the final third. The Corojo wrapper brings tea-like, citrusy character and a touch of rum funk through the middle of the smoke, keeping things lively from open foot to pointed tip. A fun, distinctive cigar that delivers well beyond its novelty.
