Peterson Pipe of The Year 2026 Rusticated
Description
Peterson has released a Pipe of the Year since 1997, and the 2026 edition is the 30th in the series. This year, Peterson’s design team revived a classic from its archives: the 493 squat “Cad” Bulldog. The Cad shape goes back to Peterson’s earliest catalogues, and this low-slung variation hasn’t been made in more than 50 years. It has a broad, squat bowl with a carved ring around the crown, a squared shank, and the stout, muscular profile Peterson is known for. A sterling silver collar engraved for the release sits between the shank and a vulcanite P-Lip stem, which directs smoke up and away from the tongue for a cool, comfortable draw.
This is the rusticated version, finished in Peterson’s deep, craggy hand rustication with warm reddish undertones showing through the dark stain. Only 1,100 were made, and each one is stamped and individually numbered on the shank. It comes in a Peterson presentation box with a tweed pouch bearing the 2026 Pipe of the Year patch, which makes it a strong collector’s piece and a memorable gift.
