Peterson System Standard Heritage Pipe #301
Description
The Peterson System is the design that built the brand’s reputation, and it’s still one of the best-smoking pipes you can buy. Charles Peterson patented its key features in Dublin in the 1890s. A reservoir in the shank catches moisture, a graduated bore smooths the draw, and the P-Lip bit sends smoke upward and away from your tongue, so the smoke stays cool, dry, and free of bite. The Heritage finish adds a deep, rich stain with a soft gloss that brings out the grain, set off by a polished nickel military mount.
This is the 301, a bent pot. Peterson’s shape historians also call it a short Dutch billiard. Its straight-sided bowl reflects Charles Peterson’s fondness for flat-walled bent pipes, giving it a compact, sturdy profile. The bowl is wide enough for a full, flavourful smoke without being oversized, and the bend balances well when clenched. It’s made in Ireland with the same design Peterson has refined for over a century, and it suits both everyday smoking and the display shelf.
